TOWARDS A BOOK
NOTES FROM AN EEPSY ROOM
This was the title of my first attempt to write up the work which took place in the DAY UNIT. It was followed by two more, more coherent documents: these were -
FINDING OUT WHAT'S ALREADY KNOWN and
EXTERNALISING THE UNPLEASURABLE: FIRST STEPS TOWARDS A SYMBOLIC RECONSTRUCTION
Most of the concepts which were explored in the above papers were incorporated into the book BALANCING THE REQUEST TO BE GOOD which only began to be written in earnest after I had left the Unit.
BALANCING THE REQUEST TO BE GOOD
The most important event in relation to the book was obviously its acceptance for publication by FREE ASSOCIATION BOOKS. Below is a copy of letter I received with an immense sigh of pleasure and relief. It was written (as can be seen) by Gill Davies who was also on a personal level extremely helpful and encouraging.
