THE PENGUIN

In the early stages of CUSTTAD'S development in the DAY UNIT there was always a certain precariousness about it. Not everyone was supportive of the work and there was a sense that at anytime those in overall charge of such initiatives might decide to close it down.  I can recall being away from the unit and fearing on my return that such a decision might have been made. Those circumstances are, for me, portrayed in the image below which was produced by a girl who was also probably feeling just as insecure.

The image was enlarged and framed and was displayed on the landing outside the ROYSTON room. It was also used on the cover of the the book BALANCING THE REQUEST TO BE GOOD.
